Tavistock Market Charter Exhibition

Opening panel of the Tavistock Market Charter exhibition 2007 was the 900th Anniversary of Tavistock's first Market Charter. Celebrations of the event included a small exhibition at the Town Museum, which Graphic Words was commissioned to design and supply.

Based on research undertaken by members of the Charter Celebrations committee, it was hoped to create a display which could be flexible enough to display in full or in part at a series of locations.

We therefore created a series of individual panels (mounted on lightweight rigid board with a UV-resistant matt laminate finish), which created a display covering a range of related topics, linked by a crimson "ribbon" effect though each of the panels.

The exhibition was first mounted in the Town Museum, so custom-sized panels were produced to fit the display into the spaces available. However, each panel was equipped with Velcro fixings, and so could be used in alternative locations on any loop nylon covered display surface.

In the Museum, the display panels were mounted onto custom-sized loop nylon-covered panels produced by Graphic Words.
