Who We Are

Steve Carreck and Alison Sherrell established the Graphic Words partnership to offer clients the opportunity of using the services of experienced publicity and communications professionals - in an economic and effective manner - whenever they are required.

Key to our approach is our determination to work closely with our clients, establishing an excellent working relationship, regularly reviewing progress, and delivering results on budget, on time. As a small business, we can offer a personalised service, tailoring our products and services precisely to our clients' requirements.

We have strong experience of working in the heritage, countryside, tourism and local economic development sectors. Our client list includes local authorities, public sector partnerships, government agencies, private sector businesses and voluntary groups.

Steve Carreck has a degree in History and MA in Information Studies. He worked for ten years as publicity manager for a major international company based in Devon. His role included the production of corporate annual reports, brochures and data sheets. He managed the corporate presence at major trade fairs and exhibitions, and handled advertising, internal communications, and website management.

Steve brought his skills and his experience to Graphic Words over five years ago, and on a freelance basis has subsequently produced brochures and annual reports for multinational companies, and worked with public-sector clients on exhibitions, displays, website development, leaflets, reports and newsletters.

Alison Sherrell has a Marketing degree and began her career as a tourism officer in Devon, before she moved on to develop the "Devon and Cornwall Rail Project", promoting public usage of rail branch lines in the region. She became countryside officer for the Tamar Valley area, subsequently running the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) Service for several years.

Alison brought into the partnership her skills in project management and research, and experience of presenting information clearly and informatively within the public sector.
